There are so many different digital cameras out there - and so many prices - but which are the Best Buys?

These are a few of  what we think are the best Digital Cameras for people on a low Budget. These are all available for around  €100 including delivery.

Canon Powershot A470 available for €89 plus €12.90 delivery to Ireland ( €101.90 )
The Canon Powershot A470 is an affordable but versatile camera -  (7 Mega Pixel ) and is a fine choice for anyone starting  out in digital photography.  It did better than many more expensive digital cameras in Reviews by consumer organisations in the UK. Available now at Pixmania

Also highly recommended is the Canon Powershot A590 IS - available now at Pixmania for about €111 delivered in Ireland. This camera has a lot of manual adjustment functions that an experienced digital photographer might want to use - such as aperture and shutter speed priority mode settings, and a manually adjustable focus and flash. New photographers can use the 12 preset exposure programme. There isn’t any internal memory, but a 32MB card is supplied. 8 Mp - 4x Zoom

For a little bit extra you could get a Fuji FinePix S5800 for around €130 delivered from Pixmania or a Panasonic Lumix Fs3 8 Mega Pixel and 4x Zoom - for about €132 delivered.

The Printer is a Canon Selphy CP740 - which is available at Pixmania for €111.75 Euro.

The Camera is a Canon Ixus 70 - which ia a 7Mega Pixel camera . It is a stylish, very compact, well-built point and shoot digital camera . It was released in 2007 - so it’s not one of the latest models - but it is a good camera and the best price we could find was £129 GBP - or about €155 Euro

So the typical  cost   of  the camera and printer bought online separately would be about €267 Euro -
The Viking price is €117 less than that. Vikings previous  price for the combination was €278 Euro.

If you are looking for a good low priced Digital Camera  - one of the best buys is the  Canon Powershot A470. It has features as good as many other cameras that cost 3 times more.

The Canon Powershot A470 is an affordable but very good quality versatile digital camera. Cheap does not always mean worse. It is available online at Pixmania Ireland for just €93 Euro plus €12.90 delivery - Total Price 105.90 Euro delivered to Ireland. It is available in Grey, Green and Blue.

Northern Ireland customers can get the Powershot A470 online at Pixmania UK for £77.60 GBP delivered. Northern Ireland residents should also be able to buy the Canon PowerShot A470 Digital Camera at Amazon - with free delivery - but they don’t deliver cameras to the Irish Republic.

It comes with a 32MB memory card instead of any internal memory.

The 7.1 megapixel camera also has a 38-132mm zoom range and six ISO settings between 80 and 1,600. There are ten scene modes with various exposure settings, so you can quickly alter the settings depending on the conditions.

It takes half a second to capture a shot, and can capture a photo every 1.5 seconds in regular mode, or one photo every 0.6 seconds in burst mode, where it continually shoot until the memory is full.

The LCD monitor is fairly good - but as with many cameras  it isn’t great in bright light. The digital zoom can be used when recording a video. While it’s not a very small camera -it  should fit in most pockets.

If you were hoping to do some online shopping at Currys and you live in Ireland - then don’t bother.
Currys are another major retailer that currently don’t offer online shopping in Ireland.
If you live in Northern Ireland or elsewhere in the UK -  you can shop online here at Currys UK site. Currys.ie web site is just a list of shop locations. Currys recently took over all the Dixons stores in Ireland - so don’t bother looking for Dixons.ie either - still no online shopping there either.

In ireland - Currys have shops in Dublin Galway Limerick Sligo , Navan,  Letterkenny Dundalk and Cork. Maybe they will allow orders online in Ireland one day?
