Comparison of Easons Amazon and Waterstones Prices

We did a quick - price comparison of the cost of buying 4 books online with delivery to Ireland. The 4 books were chosen as the type that people will probably be buying as Christmas presents. The selections were fairly random. The results were not too surprising - Easons turned out to be  over €31 Euro more expensive than Amazon for just 4 books! Amazon were the cheapest and Waterstones total price came fairly close to that of Amazon.

Total Price at Easons €54.72 plus delivery charges of €19 ie.  €73.72
Total price at Waterstones £35.46 + £7.95 delivery = £43.41  ie.  €54.25
Total Price at Amazon £34.45 +  delivery  £7.95 = £42.40   ie.  €53 Euro - Lowest Price

(using 1.25 Euro to the £ (The rate could be better than this))

Even at an exchange rate of €1.50 to the pound - Easons would still be more expensive.

Once again - I know where I will be doing my online Christmas book buying again this year - Amazon or Waterstones.
